This weekend I made a small cake for one of my favorite clients! My son wanted an 'Underwater' cake this year, but we just got back from vacation literally 2 days before his birthday so I knew I wasn't going to have time to make anything extravagant. We decided (he gave me permission) to go simple on the cake design and put most of the effort into the topper.
Seriously, how adorable is this guy?!? Almost as cute as the birthday boy! OK, I may be biased. And we had to have a couple of fondant balloons too. I mean, what's a party without balloons? The cake is protected from the non-edible wires by inserting them into a straw placed in the cake just next to the turtle's little flipper.
He's already decided that next year I will be making a construction cake... so watch for that in 364 days.
